This page explains the cookies used on ultrasoundtraining.co.uk, run by SMUG Training Ltd, which runs the Sports Medicine Ultrasound Group (“SMUG”, “we”). You can change your choices at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file saved on your device when you visit a website. Some are needed for the site to work. Others tell us how the site is used.
1. Strictly necessary cookies
These are always on. The site and your bookings cannot work without them, so they do not need your consent.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| smug_consent | SMUG | Remembers your cookie choice. | 6 months |
| woocommerce_cart_hash woocommerce_items_in_cart wp_woocommerce_session_* |
SMUG | Keep your basket and checkout working. Only set if you add something to a basket (used for Virtual events and On-Site training). | Browser session to 2 days |
| wordpress_* wp-settings-* |
SMUG | Keep you signed in. Only set if you log in to an account on this site. | Browser session to 1 year |
| _GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA | Stops spam on our contact form. Loaded on the contact page. | 6 months |
2. Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
These are off until you choose “Accept all” or switch Analytics on. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited, how people find us and what device they use, so we can improve the site. We use this as summary figures. We do not use it to identify you.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells returning visitors apart. | 2 years |
| _ga_52KEFJTX8R | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your visit. | 2 years |
3. Services you choose to use
YouTube videos. A few pages have YouTube videos. They stay as a Play button until you press it. Then the video loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced address (youtube-nocookie.com) and YouTube may set cookies. See Google’s cookie information.
Booking and payment. When you click Book, the booking window opens from Ticket Tailor and card payments are handled by Stripe. They set their own cookies to run the checkout. Those cookies are covered by their policies, not ours.
Fonts and code from other companies
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and some code from Google, Ticket Tailor and jsDelivr. Your device’s IP address is sent to them so they can deliver the files. We found no cookies set by these in our checks.
Changing your mind
- Use Cookie settings to switch Analytics on or off at any time. Switching it off removes the Google Analytics cookies.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site, such as the basket, may then stop working.
- Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on every site.
