Consultant in Sports & Exercise Medicine
Dr Dave Howell is a Consultant in Sports & Exercise Medicine with specialist expertise in diagnostic MSK ultrasound and ultrasound-guided interventions. He completed his MSK ultrasound mentorship with the Sports Medicine Ultrasound Group (SMUG) and gained a Postgraduate Diploma in MSK Ultrasound, including ultrasound-guided injection training, in 2021.
Ultrasound forms a central part of Dave’s sports medicine practice, where he combines diagnostic imaging with clinical assessment to guide the management of musculoskeletal and sporting injuries. His experience includes diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections, alongside a broad background in Sports & Exercise Medicine.
Dave is also involved in MSK ultrasound education, including teaching on SMUG ultrasound-guided injection courses. His combination of hands-on sonography, interventional ultrasound and sports medicine experience gives him a practical, clinically focused approach to teaching.
