Matt Prout

Matt Prout is an experienced Physiotherapist and MSK Sonographer with specialist expertise in diagnostic MSK ultrasound, ultrasound-guided interventions and ultrasound education. He holds a CASE-accredited Postgraduate Certificate in MSK Sonography and works across NHS and private practice, integrating ultrasound into assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.

A significant part of Matt’s work is dedicated to MSK ultrasound teaching. He is a Senior Lecturer with SMUG, teaching diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injection techniques, with a strong focus on practical scanning, image interpretation and clinical reasoning.

Matt also supervises sonography students in NHS clinics and helped establish ultrasound provision for the Sussex MSK Partnership. His high-volume clinical practice and extensive teaching experience give him a highly practical approach to ultrasound education.
