Foot & Ankle Cadaveric Ultrasound Guided MSK Injections
Ultrasound-Guided Injections of the Foot and Ankle Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the role of ultrasound in guiding interventions in the foot and ankle, and develop knowledge of in-plane, out-of-plane, and ‘drop-down’ guided techniques.
2. Gain hands-on experience guiding needles under ultrasound on fresh frozen full-bodied cadavers under close supervision from expert tutors.
3. Develop awareness of procedural protocols, safety considerations, and strategies to mitigate risks during procedures, ensuring successful and safe integration of ultrasound-guided injections into clinical practice.
4. Apply learned skills in a realistic cadaveric lab setting. Participate in hands-on exercises based on realistic case scenarios and receive individualised feedback from expert tutors for common foot and ankle-guided procedures.
5. Identify and understand scope of practice, competency requirements, training needs, and medico-legal considerations for ultrasound-guided procedures.
